The Deep Nevertheless

Dharma talk by Dr. Larry Ward

The path illuminated by the bodhisattva, one of serving all living beings, is not without its challenges. Our world presents us with difficult individuals and traumatic circumstances that can test our commitment to living in a state of unwavering compassion.

In this month's talk, Dr. Larry Ward, in his uniquely poetic and honest style, will shed light on the practices required to embody the teachings of the Never Disparaging Bodhisattva, chapter 20 of the Lotus Sutra, emphasizing the importance of meditation, contemplation, and prayer as constant companions.

For Larry, "never disparaging" does not mean non-accountability or ignorance to suffering. It means the approach to suffering, in persons and in communities, is with ever-involving compassion and wisdom.
