Time to Remember

Join Dr. Larry Ward for a talk on mindfulness of social change and The Five Remembrances. These five have been long-standing practices across many Buddhist traditions. In this talk, Larry will offer something unique. He will share his insights in applying these five contemplative practices with a view of individual and collective change as it happens in our hearts and societies across the Earth today.

The Five Remembrances:

  1. I am of the nature to grow old. There is no way to escape growing old.

  2. I am of the nature to have ill-health. There is no way to escape having ill-health.

  3. I am of the nature to die. There is no way to escape death.

  4. All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change. There is no way to escape being separated from them.

  5. I inherit the results of my actions of body, speech, and mind. My actions are my continuation.

Event includes: Dharma talk, poetry, guided meditation and Q&A.
