Enlightened love
a Dharma talk by Dr. Larry Ward
In this talk, Dr. Larry Ward speaks about cultivating a deep understanding and affection for the earth, and for heaven. In Buddhist terms, heaven is dwelling in the ultimate dimension. In Christianity and mysticism, it’s union with the whole; in Hinduism, it’s self-realization. Dr. Ward considers a relationship with heaven to be a direct experience of life.
This talk is also about expanding our understanding of devotion. This begins with a profound observation of what is. What is happening in our consciousness, what is happening here on earth? Deeper still, it is an experience of the world through the lens of the brahmaviharas - the four mindstates or “divine abodes” that represent limitless love and goodwill: loving-kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, and equanimity.
Please join us for this talk on deepening a sincere and loving connection to ourselves and the world around us.
